if that is true, it is the mother of all superstitions. it comes complete with a full back story, characters, plot lines, climatic scenes, foreshadowing, irony, and the ultimate cliff hanger...it's a little more complicated than "step on a crack, break your mother's back". I've never seen someone willing to end their life over a four leaf clover or a rabbit's foot....
